DESCRIPTION: WW - Favre-Leuba Bivouac retailed by Eddie Bauer altimeter/barometer wristwatch, ref 53203, manual wind, 40mm x 46mm to lug tips, 21mm lug width, original stainless steel screw back case with bi-directional altitude bezel and embossed logo of a mountain top on the case back, black alligator strap, original two-tone black and light blue dial with applied silver baton indices, altimeter scale along perimeter, 17J, s#410, triple signed. Includes the original inner and outer boxes as well as the manual "which is crucial in understanding how this watch operates." Originally released in 1962 this was was well ahead of its time with giving the intrepid explorer or climber something that would have truly been unthinkable at the time - an all-in-one altimeter wristwatch one could wear and enjoy in the Alps or out to dinner in St. Moritz.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, altimeter/barometer functions properly, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, no oxide; nearly flawless dial; excellent-plus hands with light spotting; lightly polished case shows very little wear, still retains some of its original factory finishing, hefty ding on bottom right lug which has bent in ever so slightly; original signed crown shows little wear; good plastic crystal; inner and outer boxes show very little wear.
